A community-led effort to preserve, modernize, and thoughtfully expand a world worth carrying forward.
Our goal is not to reproduce one exact moment in Ashes of Creation's development. We want to respect the game's foundation while exploring how it can be improved, secured, expanded, and made sustainable for a community-run environment.
We are not pretending the road ahead is short or known. Progress will be shared through credible milestones, and unknowns will be named honestly.
Evolve Community Server grows from three years of operating SWG Evolve, where our community and development team learned what it takes to care for an older game while continuing to move it forward.
That work spans modern client and rendering technology, Linux and macOS support, stronger infrastructure and account security, and reliable development and deployment practices. We are bringing that experience here while recognizing that this project will present challenges of its own.
For us, preservation does not mean freezing a game in place. When a change makes the experience better, we are open to thoughtful balance updates, quality-of-life improvements, progression changes, new systems, and reworked mechanics.
We will build, test, listen, make mistakes, and iterate with the community. The aim is a game that is genuinely fun to play, not change for its own sake.
Account security, transparent governance, duplicate-account review, support operations, and careful data handling are foundation work. They are not polish to add later.
The Evolve Companion keeps authentication separate from the game client. Players sign in securely through this website, and the Companion delivers a short-lived, single-use launch ticket to the client without ever seeing the player's password.
Evolve Community Server is an independent community project. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Intrepid Studios, and it makes no claim to official source code, assets, or services.
Community rule
Evolve Community Server is intended for players who legitimately purchased Ashes of Creation and no longer have access to the official game service. Do not upload, distribute, link to, request, or offer copies of the Ashes of Creation client or other copyrighted game files through our website or Discord. Each player is responsible for obtaining and retaining their own legitimately acquired game files.
